My sister was rushed to the hospital a few hours ago. She took her LSATs (an entrance exam to apply to Law Schools) at 1 and got out at 5pm. She was planning to go to the CheeseCake Factory to celebrate with Yury. Around 7 or 8 she was having trouble breathing. Her boyfriend who she lives with, Yury, put her in the car and said we're going, no buts.
Around 8:30 pm, I hear my mom come up the stairs screaming "DAPHNE, LETS GO!" And I'm chatting away on AIM wondering what I did this time. My mom, being the cuban that she is, confused both my dad and I in her nervous screams to hurry us up. We thought my sister had messed up her already torn muscle on her calf. She hadnt had time to attend to it because of her LSAT's. I got dressed in a minute and was out the door.
We got there and Yury was there along with his parents. His mom works at the hospital so she was alongside with my sister the whole time. She was okay. They were just running tests. A lot of them. I sat in the waiting room for the majority of the time with my dad and Yury's dad. They talked about politics and gay marriage. I found this to be obnoxious because its two very old-fashioned men who dont like change in the country and only have bad things to say.
I sat with my sister in the room for the last ten minutes we were there. My sister demanded everyone go home because everyone had work the next day. Steph asked that I stay with her tomorrow in her apartment, and of course I will even though I had been looking forward to go to Boomers all week. Im not selfish.
That was my night.
Blech, that would be scary, especially if you didn't know why your mom was screaming at you to go to the hospital. Did they ever figure out what it was?
I have to agree with you about the old-fashioned thing...I don't understand why the older generation is so completely incapable of accepting anything beyond the rigid social structure they grew up with. It's fairly obnoxious when my dad talks about politics, too, because he sits there for as long as the other person can endure and attacks their point of view. I don't really get it...either he just likes a good argument, or he really is that much of a pain in the ass.
Btw...much respect for staying with your sister.
